Client Background
Hydro-Quebec is a public utility that manages the generation transmission and distribution of electricity in the Canadian province of Quebec, as well as the export power to portions of the Northeast United States. It was established by the Government of Quebec in 1944.
Today, with 63 hydroelectric power stations, and a combined output capacity of 37,370 megawatts, it manages more than 40 percent of Canada’s water resources. Hydro-Quebec is the fourth largest hydropower producer in the world.
From Design to Delivery
In order to bring Quebecers closer by making one of its facilities at Baie-James accessible to everyone, Hydro-Quebec asked us to produce a 360-degree video, offering the public its first chance for a virtual tour of the world’s largest hydropower plant, the Robert-Bourassa generating facility.
The cutting-edge powerhouses form the biggest generating facility in North America, with a capacity of 17,418 megawatts. This video lets Canadians zip up close to Baie-James in just a few seconds and discover a slice of their history.
